Cape Clear is an island located 12 km (approx. 45 minutes) off the South West coast of Ireland. A regular boat/ferry runs from the village of Baltimore. The nearest airport is Cork International Airport which is located 58 miles (93 Km) or 1 hr 45 minutes by car from Baltimore. Cork airport is about 15 minutes outside Cork city. Dublin International Airport is located 166 miles (267 Km) or 3 hours from Cork city by car. Shannon Airport is located 77 miles (123 Km) or 2 hours by car.
Yes. Tickets are available from the Festival Office which will be open Friday 11.30am – 6.00pm and Saturday 10.30am – 6.00pm, beside or inside the Craft Shop. Tickets have limited availability, so come early to avoid disappointment.
Bring strong footwear, sturdy waterproofs, torch… and a sense of humor. Leave behind phones and recording devices. Check the forecast, you may need sunhats and raincoats.
There is no ATM available on the island.
No it isn’t wheelchair friendly. There are lots of steps into venues and on/off the ferry, and there are also some steep hills. This does not mean it is impossible, but you will need to bring your own assistance.
Yes, camping is available, only in Chleire Haven Campsite.
