Heritage Walk- Fastnet Lore.
Stories of Ireland’s greatest lighthouse, lead by local historian Séamus Ó Drisceoil. Meet at the Grotto by the North Harbour Pier.
Join us for a sneak preview of the Island’s new heritage centre, including access to a short film about the Fastnet Lighthouse.
This event is partly outdoors and indoors. It will go ahead even if it is raining (there might just be more indoors than outdoors). Bring a rain jacket and if possible some waterproof shoes!

 

Ticket Tip: You do not need to get a ticket for this event. Donations are appreciated.

Ferry Tip: The Sunday morning ferry leaving Baltimore at 11am, arriving around 11.45am, will get you in with time to relax, look around the island, and get a coffee before the stories start. Please note that ferry seats are limited, book in advance to ensure you get yours! A physical copy of your prebooked tickets will still need to be collected at the ferry office on the pier before queuing to board https://www.capeclearferries.com/timetables/

    Séamus Ó Drisceoil, a resident of Cape Clear, has been involved with many aspects of Island life over the years. Creating walking routes on the Island has been one project.

    He will be leading a walk, including history and stories of the Island. Who knows, there might even be a special ice-cream involved!
